Mr. Zigic is a senior environmental engineer with a sound understanding in water circulation and discharges and has been involved in investigating wide variety of problems world wide. Mr. Zigic’s area of expertise involves the application of computerized tools to investigate complex environmental and engineering issues in fresh and marine waters.

Since 1998, Mr. Zigic has managed and carried out numerous national and international projects that include contingency planning, environmental risk assessment, and impact assessment, caused by oil spills, discharges and water quality effects. Mr. Zigic also teaches water quality modelling at Griffith University and is an on call specialist adviser and trainer to the Australian, Thai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japanese governments in the application of their national oil spill response models.

Mr. Zigic is currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy, which is funded by the Australian Research Council-funding. His research consists of the integration of culvert and lock structures into a hydrodynamic and water quality model. By incorporating the culvert and lock routines within water quality and hydrodynamic model, researchers can examine the influence lock structures have on water bodies upstream and downstream.
